Fashion…in the year 2000

Don Norman is writing about the Design of Future Things. Cool hunters and forecasters are trying to find the future while design as a practice is trying to create it.

Here, designers in the 1930s are asked to show what they think women will be wearing in the year 2000. They actually get some things right, but we’re still not quite as electrified as they’d thought we’d be — not even in Japan!

And just if you’re feeling trendy, UK’s Design Council writes a fairly reasonable introduction to responsible trend use.
